In a dense metamorphosing urban mesh with several architectural layers and many fragile scars, the need to sew these dispersed elements and achieve continuity arises.
The building is based on the desire to be a part of the urban landscape in the most harmonious and respectful manner.
In an interrupted area of the urban layout, the inevitability of providing continuity emerges. Thus, such urgency involves a tear of the building itself, which requires a reform of the function of its interior space.
The connection to be created within the urban void involves a resetting of the relationship with the adjacent buildings that are at different altimetric levels. The building emphasizes the street slope and adjusts itself volumetrically to the existing gap, giving out a general reading of the construction in the form of a staircase. The rhythm of the existing façades remains, where cantilevered bodies allow moments of pause. The applied materials mimic the surroundings and allow the preservation of thermal and acoustic optimization inside, while reducing the need for maintenance.
The applied structural mesh allows the interior to be flexible, where adaptations to the typologies can occur on the same floor. All the residences have access to outdoor space by either balconies or terraces, offering wider sights and a deeper relationship with the surroundings.
