In this project of Big Beach House, in Sintra, we designed a garden-pine forest to frame the house, and make it an integrating element of this nature.
We tried to create a singular building, where glass is the material of choice in the southwest and northeast elevations, allowing an integral view of the exterior area, where the pool and garden are located. This material allows a spatial proximity and permeability between the interior and exterior universes.
The choice of floors and coverings was based on criteria of functionality, accessibility, ease of execution and adaptation to the surroundings. We opted for simple materials and chromatically adapted to the exterior.
In terms of space organisation, two distinct areas were created: the social and the private. The private area consists of three bedrooms and one of them is a suite with closet. All bedrooms have access to the porch. The social area was created in “open space" mode, which allows a greater amplitude of space and a relationship with the exterior. It integrates the kitchen, with direct connection to the dining room and to the living room, a toilet, a storage area and a laundry room.
The roof floor was destined to the technical area where the solar thermal collectors, outdoor air conditioning units, among others, will be placed.
