House Sesmarias

In this project, we thought to create a unique building, endowed with great privacy, in which the main elevation (east elevation) is presented as a semi-transparent skin, which guarantees the passage of natural lighting while at the same time providing privacy.

The facade created combines the concept of contemporary architecture with the Mediterranean and bathing references.

It was designed to develop a close relationship between the building and the private garden, located to the west, in which this clearly assumes an exposed elevation to the outside. Glass was the chosen material to create this proximity and spatial permeability between the two universes (indoor/outdoor).

Given the solar orientation of the lot, the main divisions of the house face east. Occupants can enjoy a large balcony and a terrace, which extend the interior space to the exterior, and create a great visual amplitude.

With regard to volume and space organization, we chose to locate the bedrooms on the first floor, all of which have a private bathroom and access to a private terrace, with the ground floor adopting a more social character. With a direct relationship with the outdoor area and the swimming pool, there are two distinct areas, separated by a glazed corridor, where the living room and the restroom are located on one side and the kitchen and pantry on the other side.

The kitchen and living room have a very close relationship with the exterior, with the largest possible opening of the exterior spans having been designed, in order to provide a relationship of proximity and extension between the two spaces.

A terrace area was created on the roof of the building, allowing you to enjoy unique views over the surrounding area.
