Lisbon, is the capital of Portugal and increasingly assumes itself as a multicultural city. It presents niche markets with very different needs, as well as people from different cultures, with different consumption habits and gastronomic customs.

In response to this market opportunity, hotel/tourist catering equipment different from the traditional concept appears, seeking to differentiate themselves in a bold way, through the physical space and/or the gastronomic offer. The “Conde Redondo 13” tourist and restaurant project fits into this concept, seeking to offer multiculturalism, gastronomy, culture and entertainment. As well wish to contribute to modernizing of the city and accompanying the cultural wave that is felt in other countries.

The “Conde Redondo” area is currently experiencing a renovation with the rehabilitation and renovation of several buildings, formerly with other uses. This building, subject to a renovation study, was built in the 1980s, with architectural features perfectly marked by the time. The proposed solution is based on some basic assumptions, which involve compliance with the proposed program, the constraints imposed by the existing space, the optimization of the cost/quality ratio through an intervention that, seeking to comply with the presented program, values the architecture, so not to cause unnecessary ruptures in its functional structure, nor solutions that are difficult to implement. Therefore, structural and non-structural demolitions inside the building are proposed.

The proposal is based on the creation of two accommodation units per floor from the 2nd to the 6th floor, from typology T0 (studio) to T1, across its 5 floors.

The building has two independent entrances directed to different floors. One of the entrances is for accessing the upper floors (accommodation units), the other gives access to the 1st floor and the two basement floors (commerce/services).

A Rooftop Bar with terrace for drinks and small snacks was also proposed on the access floor to the roof, with a bar area open 7 days a week.

Light meals and snacks will be provided by the Sushi restaurant (located on the -1 floor) and the Deli cafeteria (located on the 1st floor).

In this tourist enterprise, virtual reality will be one of the focuses in the promotion of accommodation units, through innovation, accessibility and digitization of products and services. The solution to be implemented aims to help overcome language barriers, mobility limitations and promote this tourist place.

The restaurant A.Gosto is located a few meters from Praia do Amado, a place with a great summertime atmosphere.
The building’s morphological and architectural characteristics are completely kept and preserved.
The concept for the space results from the union between the natural environment and a healthy lifestyle. This idea lead to the search for natural materials and colours, where the apposition of such elements with more austere ones, generates an aura of comfort, lightness and youthfulness.
From its large glazing windows, we have a glimpse of the entire interior layout. The restaurant has three different areas, each one with a particular atmosphere.
On the middle floor, with direct access from the street, there is a lounge-like area, where you can contemplate the urban hustle and bustle through its large window.
The lower floor offers the serving area, where the use of materials and furniture, gives the room a feeling of short-term stay.
On the upper floor, we find the dining area. Here we find spot lighting and materials such as wood and metal, which cover the room with an elegant atmosphere, granting a powerful aesthetic impact.
The use of a green wall sets the atmosphere and provides a laconic and contrasting interior.
