This single-family house project in Salvaterra de Magos was developed for a rural and agricultural context, where privacy and protection from the surrounding environment are essential.
Located on a narrow plot exposed to agricultural activity, the building adopts an introverted approach, organised around interior courtyards that ensure comfort, control, and quality of use.
The volume is defined as a single mass, carved to create protected outdoor spaces that function as extensions of the home and transitional areas between interior and exterior.
The materiality combines stone, wood, concrete, and glass, creating a balanced response between protection, durability, and integration into the rural context.
The stone base strengthens the relationship with the ground and ensures greater resistance to the surrounding conditions, while the remaining materials contribute to a contemporary and coherent architectural language.
The project was developed with a focus on execution, ensuring functional, durable solutions adapted to the specific context.
The result is a house that prioritises privacy, environmental control, and a balanced relationship with the exterior, with a practical and construction-oriented approach.
