House AF

Man is in a quest for power to control the natural environment. Yet, to return to human roots, one tends to praise Man as part of Nature, creating an organic phenomenon of harmony between both.

This house follows the same concept, forming a volume that follows the energy flow of its surroundings. This massive volume rises from the ground as a single piece, adapting to the flows that condition and transform its shape. This results in a set of intersections that provide breaking points, such as patios. The arrangement of full and empty reflects the dynamics of its surroundings.

The use of stone to clad the outer walls reflects the sense of belonging to the earth, creating a feeling of symbiosis.

The large windows and empty spaces guide the present flow.

While its exterior conveys an austere and anchored feeling, almost like a fort, its interior is wide and fluid. The large windows make the most of the natural light and ensures an exceptional energy function in its interior. Accordingly, the entire structure is designed in such a way that the interior thermal comfort remains constant, even during periods of great temperature variation.

The outdoor space embraces all the habitable volumes, making them whole.

The exterior provides a sense of refuge and isolation from the urban environment in which it is located.
